Trump's newspaper ads called for murderers to be executed. As noted in (The Atlantic's) OWN ARTICLE, the Central Park Five were found guilty of rape (and many other crimes) that night. But not murder.

I am unaware of Bruening, or any other "journalist" fact checking/vetting the obvious,

Thinking? Rationally, choosing a manner of death is not suicide. Only killing yourself, by any method, is suicide. Bruening is, somehow, unaware of that, as well as what an execution is.
Fact checking/vetting was needed, here, as well:
“Putting down animals is done better,” Dr.Zivot said. “Much better.”
Somehow, Zivot and Brueing both "forgot" that in 2009, anti death penalty folks were the ones that pressured the drug companies to withhold the better drugs from execution.

It is very strange that journalists are not aware that there is an unlimited supply of fentanyl available as a lethal injection drug, stored in police evidence rooms, everywhere, with no legal requirement to retain all evidence for prosecution, with no legal nor practical reason not to use it, with only a tiny amount needed for execution, only testing for efficacy needed, with, at least, two states, already, having it in their execution protocol and a track record of 100,000 deaths, in 2021, mostly, accidental overdoses, some with the needle still in their arm, nearly, instant unconsciousness, as the media well knows.

1 minute of fact checking finds these side effects of a REGULAR dose of midazolam:
nausea, vomiting, involuntary movements, verbalization, uncontrolled crying, aggressive behavior, hiccoughs, cough . . . and, as, everyone knows, dry heavs, prior to vomiting, as well as hiccoughs and coughs create involuntary movements, aka convulsions.
Guess who knows that? The attorneys for death row inmates, all doctors, pharmacists and drug companies knowledgeable about midazolam, the prosecutors and the judges, who will be making the decisions on these facts and anyone who fact checks/vets/researches the topic . . . and, who knew that spasms, convulsions, other uncontrolled movements, vomiting, noises, and death are common occurrences with drug overdoses?
Answer: Anyone aware of drug overdose deaths, that being, nearly anyone over the age of 13, for the past 100 years.
Is anyone unaware that lethal injection executions are drug overdose deaths?
Then we have these:
Acting: No one doubts that murderers may fake symptoms, while on the gurney. One inmate claims that his lawyer asked him to do just that. No surprise.
Extreme anxiety - pending execution - can cause vomiting.
